Art Show
featuring plein air paintings and watercolors of
Vashon’s lavender farms and scenic landscapes-
curated by Karen Dale – last year we featured works
by Karen Dale, Wendra Lynne, Diane McClary, Jeanne
Snell, Janice Wall and other Vashon artists.
Food & Beverage Once again, we will be
serving DRY Lavender Soda, in addition to lavender
lemonade, delectable goodies from Tiffany Schira of
Island Gourmet, coffee from Burton Coffee and
Barbara Stratton Premium Chocolates
Plant Sale Kathy’s Corner will have a large
selection of lavender, herbs and other perennials on
sale.
Raffle Make sure you purchase a raffle ticket – you
might win a lavender iPod shuffle, a needlepoint
pillow, or a basket of lavender essentials.
Bike Parking
Everyone who arrives on a bicycle will receive a

Plein Air Painting Demonstration
Vashon Artist Karen Dale will demonstrate painting
outdoors –come watch and pick up some tips, then
enjoy the art show featuring paintings and pastels
of Vashon lavender farms and other landscapes
11:00am - 1:00pm Wand making
Free lavender wand making workshops. Take yours home.
Wands are also available for purchase.
NOON Tour the fields and gardens
Take a tour of the lavender fields with one of the Lavender
Hill Mob. Learn how to care for and harvest lavender as you
wander through the fields of Provence, Grosso and Silverleaf
lavender and and learn about the 20 varieties on the farm.
We’ll take you into our drying room and through the process
of drying, shucking and cleaning lavender buds.
1:00pm The Buzz on Bees
Vashon beekeeper Bob Dixon will talk about keeping bees,
producing honey and what’s happening to the honey bees.
Come taste our lavender honey from 2007.
2:00 - 4:00pm Children's Activities in the Playhouse
Sachet making - $5 includes a sachet. Face Painting –
last year Vashon artists Pam Ingalls and Wendra Lynne were
painting faces – who will it be this year?
